Mission to Wobulenzi, Uganda

In March 2026 a delegation under the patronage of Chevalier Dr Johann Debono KCLJ CMLJ of the Grand Priory of Malta, with the participation of the Grand Prior of Bulgaria, visited Happy Times Childcare Home in Wobulenzi, Luweero District. The home, founded and run by Joyce Namigadde, cares for more than 170 children without parents.

The delegation bought food and household supplies locally and handed them over to the home, and held practical cooking lessons for the older children.

This work, led personally by Chevalier Dr Johann Debono B.A., LL.D., KCLJ CMLJ, continues in cooperation with Mrs Namigadde and her team, focusing on international cooperation in the care of children without parental care, in partnership with the Ugandan authorities and within Ugandan law.

In October 2026 Joyce Namigadde was received into the Order and installed as Grand Prioress of Uganda. Between visits, the Grand Priory of Bulgaria stays in regular contact with the home and continues to support it remotely.
