Thirty years of the United Grand Priories and the 34th Solemn Investiture

In 2025 the Order marked around the world thirty years since the United Grand Priories were founded in London in 1995. The celebrations culminated in Malta in October.

On 14 October the Grand Chancellor, H.E. Massimo J. Ellul, led a deputation of the Saint Lazarus Foundation and the Order on a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic of Malta, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, at San Anton Palace. The Grand Officers of the Order and delegations from fifteen jurisdictions were introduced to the President, who addressed them. The Supreme Grand Prior, HIRH Archduke Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen, thanked her on behalf of the international deputations and pledged further hospitaller and philanthropic work in the years to come.

The next day the 34th Solemn Investiture was held at the Westin Dragonara in St Julian's, and forty-two postulants were received into the Order. The service was led by the Supreme Grand Prior with the Grand Secretary, Commander (Ret.) Steven Groeneveld of the South African Navy, the Grand Marshal, H.E. Peter Neuen, and the Grand Chancellor.

Close to €450,000 was donated in the anniversary year for hospitaller and philanthropic initiatives in favour of the vulnerable and the underprivileged.
